What does that mean? It means that you are buying "a t-shirt you can feel good about!" And here is why: Our t-shirts are high quality. The cotton is grown organically - no pesticides or synthetic chemicals. This gives you a soft, breathable shirt, that won't irritate sensitive skin. RECYCLE ME® t-shirts are long lasting, pre-shrunk shirts that retain their shape and size.
RECYCLE ME® t-shirts are environmentally friendly because they minimize harm to the planet and you. First, our organic cotton is not grown with the use of all those pesticides and synthetic fertilizers that are applied to regular conventional cotton, helping to keep your air, water, and soil clean. Next, RECYCLE ME® uses high quality fiber reactive dyes in natural color-tones that give you the best quality dye for the least impact on the environment. In this way we avoid using and leaching into the environment the chemicals, from formaldehyde to heavy metals that can be used in dying t-shirts. Finally, our inks are water-based and don't contain plastics which can be carcinogenic and hormone-disrupting to any animal, human or wild. We keep it as clean as possible.
RECYCLE ME®t-shirts are ecologically sustainable because they allow the ecological relationships in the soil and wildlife communities to be maintained. How is this done? Organic cotton farmers rotate their crops to keep the soil fertile and strong and they use much less water. Why is this important? When you don't rotate crops you get poor soil, which requires intensive synthetic fertilizing, and if that doesn't work, the area can become useless and like a desert. Also using less water reduces run-off, soil loss and water loss.
At RECYCLE ME® we are a socially responsible green business. We take positive steps to make sure our t-shirts are made beneficial to the welfare of society at large. We reduce the amount of pesticides and chemicals that are put into the environment by producing our shirts the way we do, making our environment cleaner for everyone.
Part of being a socially responsible business is ensuring that the suppliers and companies we work with take good care of their employees. Employee safety, welfare, and fair wages are all important to RECYCLE ME®. This is one of the reasons we have our shirts manufactured, printed and dyed in the United States, to ensure fair labor practices.
RECYCLE ME® is also working on becoming a Carbon Neutral company. For starters, our whole t-shirt process is done in the United States, from the growing and spinning of the cotton, to it's printing. By having everything done as locally as possible, we keep our carbon output to a minimum. Next, we adhere to a "three-day a week" shipping policy so we aren't adding carbon on a daily basis to get our orders out. And finally, once we are established and can calculate our carbon footprint we will purchase carbon offsets so we can be certified carbon neutral. It is all in an effort to run our business as green as we possibly can and provide you with "a t-shirt you can REALLY feel good about!"
