SIZING AND CARE

 

How should I wash my RECYCLE ME® shirt?

Cool water with phosphate free (environmentally friendly) detergent. Wash with like colors. Shirts can be dried on medium, delicate, or hung. They won’t shrink* (read below).

 

How much will RECYCLE ME® shirts shrink?

They won’t. All RECYCLE ME® dyed shirts are preshrunk. The application of the water based inks requires intense heat and the shirts shrink in the process giving the customer a pre-shrunk shirt. On our natural shirts we area able to use a water based direct to garment process that does not shrink the shirts. These shirts also need to be washed once inside out.

 

How do I size my RECYCLE ME® shirt?

We do use different manufacturers due to the limited supply of 100% organic USA grown and manufactured cotton. But here are some general guidelines (with sizing estimates) to follow.

Adult Shirts

Basic T-shirt. These shirts follow the basic box cut and style of the unisex shirt. They are preshrunk (unless otherwise noted in description) so don’t buy a size up unless you want a bigger, roomier shirt. Shirts can vary ½ inch within the same size.

Basic Small: Length 26 inches/Width 18 inches

Basic Medium: Length 27 ½ inches/Width 20 inches

Basic Large: Length 28 inches/Width 23 inches

Basic XL: Length 29 inches/Width 25 inches

Basic 2XL: Length 30 ½ inches/Width 27inches

Women’s Slim Fit. These shirts have a woman’s curved stylish cut, roomier neckline, and shorter sleeve. They are narrow and snug. Most women should buy up one size. A women’s XL is equivalent to a small basic. Shirts can vary ½ inch within the same size.

Women’s Slim Fit Small: Length 23 inches/Width 17 inches

Women’s Slim Fit Medium: Length 23 ½ inches/Width 18 inches

Women’s Slim Fit Large: Length 24 inches/Width 19 inches

Women’s Slim Fit XL: Length 24 ½ inches/Width 20 inches

Women’s Slim Fit 2XL (only in eco chick) is a Basic Medium (see above).

 

Kids Shirts. I AM GREEN shirts are 1 inch shorter than the standard kids shirts, fitting like an undershirt length. Shirts can vary ½ inch within the same size.

Youth Large: Length 21 ¾ inches/Width 17 inches

Youth Medium:21 inches/Width 15 ½ inches

Youth Small: Length 20 inches/Width 14 ¾ inches

Toddler Large (6T): Length 17 ½ inches/Width 14 inches

Toddler Medium (4T): Length 16 ½ inches/Width 12 ½ inches

Toddler Small (2T): Length 15 ½ inches/Width 11 ¼ inches

Infant.

18-24 months: Length 13 ¾ inches/Width 10 ½ inches

12-18 months: Length 13 inches/Width 10 ¼ inches     

6-12 months: Length 12 inches/Width 9 ½ inches

 

Kid Long Sleeves.

Large: Length 21 inches/Width 16 inches

Medium: 19 inches/Width 15 inches

Small: 17 ½ inches/Width 13 inches

X Small: 16 ½ inches/Width 11 inches

12-18 months: 13 ½ inches/Width 10 inches

6-12 months: 13 inches/Width 9 ¼ inches

3-6 months: 12 inches/Width 8 ½ inches
RECYCLE ME® strives to keep our Carbon Footprint as small as possible. The first way is to reduce the distance of shipping required to produce our t-shirts and therefore reduce carbon emissions. That means our cotton is grown, spun, cut and sewn in the U.S.A., and it is also where we print our shirts.

The following is an example of where some of our shirts are made from beginning to end:

1. Organic cotton grown in Texas;
2. Organic cotton spun in North Carolina;
3. Organic cotton cut and sewn in Pennsylvania;
4. Organic cotton t-shirts dyed and printed in Colorado;
5. Organic cotton t-shirts shipped to Chicago, IL for sale.

The next way we reduce our carbon output at RECYCLE ME®M is to use our "three day a week" shipping system. Less driving to drop off, less CO2 emissions.

Finally, we aim to become a Certified Carbon Neutral green business. Once we have established our business practices and can calculate our carbon output we will buy carbon offsets to essentially provide you with a carbon neutral t-shirt.
